Graceful, resiliant, and unique, Ande Sew custom knitwear creates designs for the distinguished woman who cherishes her past and embraces her present. Ande Sew, an Ethiopian phrase that translates litterally as one soul but more alludes to the importance of the individuals contribution and presence within ones surroundings. Ande Sew is about consciousness. Multi- Ethinic designer Susannah Curtis is the creative mind behind Ande Sew. While attending Business School, Curtis along side childhood friend, and co founder, Betsy Hernandez, began exploring their love for fashion and expanding on knitting, crocheting and craft skills acquired together. Seeing tremendous rapid growth in capabilities and creativity gave sufficient motivation to begin a fashion line. Going from making simple hand made hats and scarfs to signature complex ensambles typical of what Ande Sew is now known for. As founders and designers of Ande Sew, Susannah and Betsy created a line with a unique twist on traditional knitwear. Exploring the possibilities of balance between craft and modernity, combining experience with hand knit, crochet, and machine knits, acquired through family tradition, with personal sense of millenial taste, to create a customized collection that is soft, feminine, fashion forward and modern yet timeless. After a few years of behind the scenes development, Susannah took the business solo forging forward into the market place with a presence to be recognized.

Ande Sew has contributed to the popular reemergence of the once forgotten knitting trend, leading the way by example, to think outside of the box and realize the limitless style ideas and concepts with knits. Their use of tradition combined with modern lines and shapes are taking the industry by storm. Ande Sew has worked their ways on to the racks of some very exclusive boutiques, and are rapidly expanding their horizons to a store near you.

One of the specialties about Ande Sew designs is that they are versatile and dynamic, because they can often be worn in more that one way. The luxurious collection pieces are multifunctional and their styling can be reinterprited several times over. Materials used in our collections are mostly produced in house and use custom color blends that are made exclusively for the Ande Sew Custom Knitwear Design House. They also incorporate a wide range of exotic yarns including some imported virgin wools from Africa to do the embellishments on the garments. This is all topped of by the occasional use of decorative ornaments to add the final personalized touch to each piece. Being sure to maintain meticulous attention to detail. Craftsmanship is the key to luxury.

We put out our collections each season in limited editions to maintain a feeling of exclusivity for the Ande Sew woman.
